The Program Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Establish/monitor systems and procedures for achievement of corporate goals.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Facilitate the PMT process by calling the PMT meetings, issuing in a timely manner the proper documentation for team members to review, and following up on issues before and after the PMT meetings; Ensure proper Plant personnel are informed and attend.
  • Translate customer program requirements into achievable program plans.
  • Develop plans and track the completion of APQP and PPAP information.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues by taking charge and making timely decisions based on facts; maintain team stability by keeping the team focused on the appropriate issues.
  • Use sound judgment and provide risk assessment/viable countermeasures to management early enough to allow for proper assistance when required.
  • Manages the program timing and deliverables both internally, and in the customer systems (i.e. Toyota)
  • Responsible for managing program finances within budget.

Program Manager Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Estimating/Sales experience.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Toyota program management system experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Experience in GD&T.
  • Quality Function Deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
